• Graphics files can be edited for improved appearance

• 52 CALS compliant Hershey & Adobe fonts, with accented characters and symbols - e.g. Ä Ç Ø Ü ß ö é ç å

• Industry standard symbols library for well symbols, etc., with the facility to create custom symbols

• Pattern fill library - for lithology, with the facility to create custom fills

• Thumbnail sketch generator - for fast file browsing

• Named Reference Points - for accurate alignment

• ‘Cut lines’ feature to cut and splice long, narrow files - for example well logs

• Import and export of CGM files

• Intuitive GUI speeds learning and reduces training overheads

• Link with SDI_PLOT for output to any specified plotter or printer on the network via SDI's plot servers

Product Options:

EDIT - enables the user to edit the drawing primitives

INPUT - adds input filter for ASCII, TIFF, JPEG, XWD and PostScript files

PRINT - adds JPEG, PNG,TIFF, XWD and PostScript output

PRO - includes the EDIT option, and combines the input filter of INPUT and output filter of PRINT

BATCH - enables batch mode template sessions to be saved and reused

COMPOSE - well log composition tool

SDI View - also available, stand-alone CGM viewer

Viewing - includes a high resolution zoom for close examination of seismic and graphic detail, and full X and Y fast scrolling. Three viewing modes for seismic data: Quality, Draft , Off. Non seismic files may be viewed and appended in a variety of orientations - through 90º increments.

Montaging - imported files may be merged, moved, resized, cropped or uncropped to a newly created drawing area as often as required. Accepts the input either directly as a CGM(+) file or as another file format through SDI’s range of file format converters. Drawing areas and selectable grid spacing values can be set and modified to specific sizes in mm or inches.

Drawing Editor - individual primitives of a CGM(+) file to be selected and identified. Both the type of primitive - text, line, polyline, polygon, etc., and its attributes - colour, height, width, font, etc., can be modified with the Drawing Editor. Options to smooth selected polylines and polygons, close polylines to create a polygon, and splitting to create two new polylines. When adding a solid element such as a rectangle or polygon, the user can specify the line type - solid, dashed, dotted, dot dash, or dot dot dash. When drawing an ellipse this can be constrained to form a circle, and likewise when drawing a rectangle this can be constrained to form a square.

Text Editor - 52 font styles available, including CALS compliant Hershey & Adobe fonts. Font mapping by use of a user-defined font list. Character height can be specified in mm or inches, with justification and 360º rotation options. With the selection filter and the grouping function, the user can specify a scale factor that will scale all text in the group, either up or down. The cursor can be positioned in a text string after the string has been selected. Access is provided to the extended characters of the Adobe fonts, which enables users to have accented characters and symbols e.g. ôöòóõøßÞ.

Insert/Delete Keys - when a graphical element is selected, a copy of the element can be saved in the exact position of the original element by pressing the Insert key. An element (except text) may be deleted by pressing the Delete key. When an element is selected and the copy button is pressed, an additional copy of the element will be placed at the current cursor position each time the Insert key is pressed.

Named Reference Points - enable the user accurately to locate appended files with respect to the drawing area or another file.

Pattern Editor - SDI supplies 35 geological lithology pattern fills stored in xpm format. Additional patterns may be added by the user. The Pattern Editor will display up to 99 different patterns.

Icon Tool Bar - allows users to quickly perform many operations. Additional functionality is also included such as hide/show rulers and changing units between inches and millimetres.

Symbols - the user may select one of 79 symbols supplied and control the size, colour and orientation of the symbol in the montage. The user may also add additional symbols or modify the SDI supplied symbols.

Cut Lines - facility for cutting and splicing long narrow CGM files such as well logs. On a selected appended CGM file, the user may add horizontal cut lines and pick and remove any section bounded by the cut lines, and the two remaining sections of the file will join together.

CGM Version 3 - can save a montaged file as CGM Version 1 or Version 3. Saving as a Version 3 file will greatly reduce the size of the CGM file generated when large monochrome images are contained in the montage.
Cyrillic - SDI Montage together with Print Master supports Cyrillic characters (standard, bold, italic and bold italic) in Arial and Times Roman font types.
